Long Island Community Foundation Awards $15K to East End Arts' JumpstART Program

East End Arts, the Riverhead-based nonprofit, will be able to continue its JumpstART program for artists thanks to a $15,000 grant from the Long Island Community Foundation.
JumpstART helps artists develop entrepreneurial skills through a training series. Artists hear from other artists who have succeeded in making a living through their art.
In addition to workshops, JumpstART holds public exhibitions so artists in the program can show off what they can do.
“East End Arts has developed an intensive curriculum dedicated to the business side of art,” the organization states. “It is our belief that with the necessary tools, an artist is better able to take advantage of creative opportunities that arise and be more likely to be aware of opportunities that exist. A limited number of artists of any discipline will be accepted into JumpstART.”
