Southampton Town police arrested two men this week in connection with a robbery in Southampton Monday.

Timothy P. Gallo, 25, of Water Mill, and Maxwell B. Byrne, 25, of Southampton, punched and kicked a man, causing contusions and abrasions to his head and face, then stole property from the victim, according to police.

Police said Gallo was arrested shortly after the incident and was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail. Byrne turned himself in to detectives on Tuesday and was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning.

Both men are charged with second-degree robbery, a felony, and third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
