Flash Flood Warning for East End Until 3:45 p.m.

A flash flood warning is in effect for much of the East End, while Montauk and Amagansett have a flood advisory.

The National Weather Service reports that at 1:50 p.m. Doppler radar indicated heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms over the area. One to 2 inches of rain have already fallen and an additional inch is likely in the next hour. Flash flooding is imminent and road closures are likely, expecially in flood-prone areas such as Sound Avenue.

Delay travel until later this afternoon.
