Southampton 7-Eleven Owner Crowned Coffee Queen, Again
For the second consecutive year, Southampton 7-Eleven owner Lorie DeFelice has been named the Coffee Queen because her store sold the most coffee of any 7-Eleven franchise in the U.S.
The store sells 1,250 cups of coffee each day and is on pace to serve 450,000 cups of coffee in 2015. DeFelice says it is an 15,000-cup increase over last year. On Wednesday, 7-Eleven reps came to Southampton to crown DeFelice.
“The Long Island area brings in the most coffee sales in the entire country. Winning the title of Coffee Queen two years in a row is now easy and takes hard work and dedication,” said Laura Gordon, the vice president of marketing and brand innovation for 7-Eleven. “Lorie’s level of customer service and dedication to her community is what makes her so successful. It’s more than having fresh coffee and a clean store; it’s about connecting with your customers and employees.”
This year’s celebration included complimentary muffins and crullers for customers, just like at 2014 coffee queen coronation. New this year were free Coffee Queen T-shirts, a number of vendors giving out free samples and a visit by WALK 97.5 FM.
“We wanted it to be about customer appreciation,” DeFelice said of this year’s festivities. “Even though I stand there and get the award, I couldn’t get it if I didn’t have all the great customers that frequent the store and I didn’t have great people that work for me. t’s really about appreciating all of them.”
“Southampton is an awesome community,” she said. “It’a great place to have a business. It’s a great place to have a family.”
