Dan’s GrillHampton, the East End’s exciting grilling and tasting event by Dan’s Papers, has evolved into a who’s who of grillmasters, and will once again feature some of the best chefs from NYC and the Hamptons in the ultimate country versus city grill-off in summer 2016. This year, some exciting newcomers from both the Hamptons and NYC, including city fan fave Shake Shack, are entering the GrillHampton ring on Friday, July 22. Here are the newcomers announced so far.

NYC

Shake Shack
Established in 2004 in Madison Square Park, Shake Shack has gone from one food cart to massive international success everywhere from the United Kingdom to Japan. Shake Shack has a menu of delectable burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes and custards that have been developed by Culinary Director Mark Rosati. It remains to be seen if Shake Shack can help defeat the Hamptons, but either way, guests are in for a real treat. shakeshack.com

Altamarea Group
Owned by partners Ahmass Fakahany and Chef Michael White, the Altamarea Group comprises 15 different restaurants throughout the world. Last year, Altamarea Group’s restaurant Costata competed. But this year, White is coming to GrillHampton to represent the company as a whole. With 15 successful restaurants in its belt, the Altamarea Group could be a game-changer for the NYC team. altamareagroup.com

HAMPTONS

First & South
This Greenport restaurant is known for its eclectic menu and fun, quirky atmosphere. Scott Leventhal, who took over as chef in 2015, will be representing First & South at GrillHampton after participating in Dan’s Taste of Two Forks and Dan’s Harvest East End last year. When asked what drew him to work on the East End, Leventhal replied: “Location, location, location, and some great friends.” firstandsouth.com

Topping Rose House
Celeb chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten recently signed on to take over this Bridgehampton staple. Topping Rose House a popular year-round luxury hotel with a high-quality restaurant. With a menu that showcases ingredients and produce from Topping Rose House’s own farm and other local businesses, each dish has a Hamptons twist. With a history of excellence and local roots, will Topping Rose and current Chef Drew Hiatt put the Hamptons team over the edge? toppingrosehouse.com
