This week: It’s a sophisticated affair, from classical music to the Hampton Classic, but that doesn’t mean you can’t let loose and have some fun! Music fills the streets and comedy fills the stage. End the week with a bang with a community firework show.

Monday, August 22

Bobby Collins at Bay Street Theater
At 8 p.m. head to Bay Street Theater for an evening of comedy. A native New Yorker, Collins has worked alongside Jerry Seinfeld, Jay Leno and Christ Rock, and has appeared on The Jimmy Fallon Show, The Tonight Show, and on HBO and ShowTime Specials. Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival: Bolcom/Boccherini/Brahms at Bridgehampton Presbyterian Church
At 7 p.m. enjoy the three B’s: William Bolcom’s humorous “Haydn Go Seek,” Boccherini’s Flute Quintet, and Brahms’ A Major Piano Quartet as a continuation of the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival. Tickets begin at $40. For more information, visit bcmf.org.

Alive on 25
At 5 p.m. head down to Main Street in Riverhead for the final night of Alive on 25. The pop-up musical festival will take over downtown, with bands such as Oogee Wawa, Buttered Soul, Mike Ryan and Friends and Dub Steady. Ariel String Quartet at The Perlman Music Program

Saturday, August 27

East Hampton Fireworks Display
At 8:30 p.m. at Main Beach in East Hampton, celebrate the summer with a massive fireworks display, in support of the East Hampton Volunteer Fire Department. Donations are encouraged. Call 917-603-0200 for more information.

Heart of Springs Gala Benefit
This “Fisherman Formal” on the green at Ashawagh Hall will include and art show and sale to benefit Heart of Springs, celebrating the significance of the Springs Historic District. The benefit begins at 5 p.m. Visit heartofsprings.org to find out more.

Hampton Classic Horse Show
The Hampton Classic is back! The premier event of late summer will take place at the showground, 240 Snake Hollow Road in Bridgehampton. The show includes the finals of the young Jumper Championships, the Hunter Classics, and more. Visit hamptonclassic.com for event information.

Staged Reading of “The Poets of Amityville” at Guild Hall
Drama Desk winner and Emmy nominated writer Eugene Pack presents his new comedy about an adult education poetry class on Long Island that turns into a fierce competition. The staged reading cast will include Patrick Boll, Matthew Broderick, Stockard Channing, Chloe Dirksen, Tovah Feldshuh, Geraldine Hughes, Carol Kane, Richard Kind, Treat Williams and Dayle Reyfe.
