Time to get spooked! Halloween is coming to the East End, bringing with it frighteningly festive activities for you and your family. Travel back in time to attend an 1860s funeral. Dare yourself to brave Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse. Or check out a exhibit of works by cartoonist Charles Addams, creator of The Addams Family. Here are just a few of the many ghoulish offerings:

Forever Bungalows
From Friday, October 28 to Monday, October 31, Forever Bungalows presents The Haunted Bungalows. Appropriate for all ages, entry is free from noon until 6 p.m. Each visit is also a chance to win a free two-night stay between November 2016 and March 2017. Forever Bungalows, 765 Route 114, Sag Harbor. 631-591-0512 foreverbungalows.com

Gateway Playhouse
A fright-fest not for the faint-of-heart, Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse is consistently rated one of Long Island’s top haunted houses. It features a full 30 minutes of scares that are sure to give you goosebumps! You can also enjoy the midway area, featuring concessions, games, and “special spooky visitors.” The Haunted Playhouse is recommended for ages 12 and up. For the littler ones, Gateway offers Kids Adventures that will bring smiles as a cheerful guide leads groups through a well-lit tour filled with fun characters. Also for the kids: face painting, a pumpkin bouncer and more—great for ages 10 and up. Costumes are encouraged. The Kids Adventure takes place on Saturdays and Sundays through November 1. Gateway’s Haunted Playhouse runs through October 31. Gateway Playhouse, 215 South Country Road, Bellport. 631-286-1133 gatewayshauntedplayhouse.com
