Learn More About Community Choice Aggregation in Monday Webinar

By Taylor K. Vecsey
2 minute 08/15/2020 Share
Gordian Raacke, executive director of Renewable Energy Long Island, explained the Community Choice Aggregation process at East Hampton Town Hall in 2019.

A webinar on Community Choice Aggregation, a program that allows local governments to buy electricity and/or natural gas supply on behalf of their communities from a provider other than the current utility, will be held on Monday afternoon.

The Town of East Hampton is considering legislation that would enable exploring if CCA could benefit East Hampton residents. CCA, as it is known, can also provide incentives for various products and services.

Residents interested in learning more can register for the webinar, which will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. It is being organized by Renewable Energy Long Island.

Supervisor Peter Van Scoyoc will open the webinar and there will be three presenters, including Dan Welsh of Sustainable Westchester, who will discuss the CCA experience since 2016 in Westchester County. Brad Tito of New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and Justin Bell of the Long Island Power Authority will also speak.
A question and answer session will follow.

Registration takes place at EnergizeEH.org/Webinars. The webinar link will be sent via email upon registration. It is free to attend.

More information is available by emailing info@EnergizeEH.org or visiting EnergizeEH.org/CCA.
