Lessing's Montauk & North Fork Wedding Venues Are Distinctly Stunning

With more than 130 years of experience and 25 venues across New York and Florida, Lessing’s Hospitality Group has proven its talent at making dream weddings come true. Among its several Long Island destinations are Lessing’s North and South Fork venues: The Vineyards at Aquebogue and 360 East at Montauk Downs. We spoke with Kate Wiggins, The Vineyards at Aquebogue Sales Director, to learn more about these enticing East End wedding venues.
Is there one wedding service that clients are surprised to learn that Lessing’s offers?
Couples are always pleasantly surprised to find out that both The Vineyards at Aquebogue and 360 East at Montauk Downs offer full vendor packages to add on to their wedding. Finding vendors out on the East End of Long Island can sometimes be a challenge, so we have bundled together our preferred vendors in a cohesive offering of DJ, flowers, photography, wedding cake and transportation — all for one set price. The Vendor Bundle simplifies planning and contributes to a successful, smooth wedding!
Which of Lessing’s East End wedding venues is most popular for ceremonies, and which is most popular for receptions?
Both The Vineyards at Aquebogue and 360 East at Montauk Downs are such unique spaces. Each East End property has something distinct to offer: 360 East offers the opportunity to host a ceremony on the ocean bluffs of Camp Hero Park in Montauk, whereas The Vineyards has a serene backdrop of lush gardens and acres of vineyards for a ceremony space. The cocktail and ballroom spaces at each venue boast natural lighting and natural wood tones. The cocktail deck at The Vineyards is a beautiful wood patio with bistro lights and vines on the ceiling, and 360 East has a cathedral ceiling ballroom full of gorgeous, stained wood and unique, modern chandeliers. They are both popular for different reasons!
What’s the secret to creating a memorable wedding reception menu?
The best advice that we give couples is to always think of your guests, but to also consider yourselves as a couple when creating your menu. It is important to incorporate personal touches into the cuisine to immerse your guests in a culinary experience they will remember. For example, if your first date was at a New York City cocktail bar, include a custom sign and a unique NY-themed signature drink with a quirky name to honor the memory. If you love takeout date nights, include a “Mini-Meals Station” at your cocktail hour featuring Lo Mein with chopsticks in takeout boxes, Sicilian pizza cubes and hot Nashville chicken sliders with fries. If you travel and have been to many countries, we can create an “Around the World Station” with a few culinary bites from countries you’ve enjoyed visiting. Customizing the menu and creating accompanying signage is a great way to include your guests and have them enjoy what you love as a couple!
