Teen Charged with Felony Following Bomb Threat at Mercy High School

An Islandia teenager was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree falsely reporting an incident, a felony, after a note with a bomb threat was found on McGann-Mercy High School property.
Riverhead police said the school called at 3:44 p.m. to report the note. The Suffolk County Police Department Emergency Services Unit was called to assist.
Detectives from the Riverhead Police Department investigated, leading to the arrest of the Islandia teen, who was processed then released on an appearance ticket for a future appearance at Riverhead Justice Court.
