Louis C.K. Nominated for SAG Award
Shelter Island’s Louie C.K. is among the nominees announced Wednesday for the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
For his starring role in Louie, the FX series that he also writes and directs, C.K. was nominated in the performance by a male actor in a comedy series category. His competition is Ty Burrell (Modern Family), William H. Macy (Shameless), Jim Parsons (The Big Bang Theory) and Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent).
Earlier this month, C.K. delighted East Enders with two surprise performances at Guild Hall in East Hampton. Each stand-up show was $10—both were announced just 12 hours before he took to the stage and both sold out in minutes. On the second night, East Hampton’s Jerry Seinfeld was the opening act.
Seinfeld guest starred on an episode of Louie that was shot in the Hamptons—Seinfeld played himself, who asked C.K. to perform at a charity benefit in the Hamptons.
The SAG Awards will be held January 30, 2016.
