Hamptons Classic Horse Show Is Making Some Changes

The Hampton Classic Horse show in Bridgehampton had some trouble last year because of Tropical Store Irene, which included power outages, taking down tents, and schedule changes.

This year, some of those changes will be sticking. The horse show is going to schedule the $50,000 United States Hunter Jumper Association’s international hunter derby to the opening day in the Grand Prix ring, directly after the $20,0000 Nicolock Time Challenge, which is usually scheduled in the afternoon after the opening ceremony.

The change is being made mainly because the derby has become more popular according to the Hampton Classic’s director, Shanette Barth Cohen.
