Bebé Baldwin Habla Español

US Weekly reports that Hamptons celebrity couple Alec Baldwin and Hilaria Thomas intend to teach their daughter Spanish as well as English. Thomas, who is of Latin descent, wants her child to speak her native language. “I was on the phone with my nephew, who’s seven… and he asked me, ‘Is she going to speak Spanish?'” Thomas shared at the launch party for Glamour Belleza Latina, a Latin version of the popular women’s magazine.

To encourage faster language assimilation, Thomas said she and Baldwin [read: SHE] will only allow Spanish to be spoken in their household. Unfortunately, Mr. Baldwin no habla español, so the coming months may be tough for the new dad. Hopefully it will be good fodder for the next hit comedy he develops for NBC.

“It’s a little tricky because my husband doesn’t speak Spanish,” Thomas said. “But maybe we will have our own conversation and he’ll have to learn. We can talk behind his back. I cannot wait!”

Alec must be thrilled.

Thomas and Baldwin announced late last week that their baby would be a little girl.
