Local Art Contest Seeks Young Artists Ages 5-19

The organizers of this juried exhibition and art contest have asked youth artists to submit work in any medium for a show at Ashawagh Hall in Springs on March 16 and 17. Submissions will be grouped by grade/age divisions and work can be entered into two categories: Photography/Digital Art/Mixed (graphic) Media or Drawing/Painting/Illustration/Collage/Sculpture. Prizes will be awarded for Best in Show and Best in Division/Category.
Barbara Impereale of Tuckahoe School is curating the show, which also has a few spots pen for “kids at heart” adults making kid-friendly art.
Registration forms are available now at Hampton Photo–Arts and Framing in the Bridgehampton Commons. Artist spots available on a first come, first served basis. Registration deadline is March 9th.
Opening Reception for the The Super Happy Fun Time Mega Blast Emerging Youth Artist Contest and Experience is scheduled for Saturday March 16 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and gallery hours continue Sunday, March 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ashawagh Hall, 780 Springs Fireplace Road in East Hampton (Springs).
Entry fee is $20 for up to two pieces. Cash and Check are accepted at time of registration at Hampton Photo–Arts and Framing. Pieces must be framed and wired or wired and hang-ready, and cannot exceed 16 x 20 inches. Three-dimensional work (sculpture, etc.) cannot exceed 3 x 3 feet and must be able to be displayed from floor (limited pedestals available on first come basis).
