East End Memorial Day Parades and Ceremonies

Honor our fallen soldiers at one of the East End‘s many Memorial Day parades and ceremonies over the weekend. This day of remembrance is about much more than kicking off the summer, barbecuing and wearing white for the first time since Labor Day.

Hamptons

East Hampton
Monday, 10:30 a.m.

Everit Albert Herter Post 550, down Main Street.

Southampton
Monday, 10:45 a.m.

Begins at First Presbyterian Church, 2 South Main Street, down Jobs Lane to Agawam Park, Pond Lane for service at 11 a.m. with guest speaker Chuck Scarborough. Presented by Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events.

Hampton Bays
Monday, 10 a.m.

Begins with a flag raising and ceremony in front of the American Legion Hall Aldrich Post #924 at 55 Ponquogue Avenue. Parade begins at 10:45 a.m. and will travel down Main Street.

East Quogue
Sunday, 1 p.m.

The East Quogue Fire Department’s annual Memorial Day Parade will start from Walker Avenue and head east on Main Street to the firehouse, where there will be a brief ceremony.

Montauk Memorial Day Parade
Sunday, Noon–2 p.m.

Montauk’s veterans and service club members march down Main Street in honor of the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The march will start at Kirk Park and move east through town, ending on the Village Green.

Montauk Memorial Day Dinner
Saturday, 5:30-9 p.m.

Veterans are invited to a complimentary Fish & Chips dinner at the Montauk Coast Guard Station, 59 Star Island Rd. in Montauk. Dinner includes cole slaw and dessert. Veterans eat free, guest $20 donation, $10 donation children 10 and under. Call 631-668-9825 or 631-375-6625.

Montauk Morning Colors
Monday, 8 a.m.

Coast Guard and Scouts Flag Raising Ceremony and Remembrance with guest speakers. Flag is lowered and folded. Flags in need of retirement are burned under the watchful eye of the Montauk Fire Department. Montauk Village Green, Main Street in Montauk.

North Fork

Greenport
Monday, 10 a.m.

Begins with ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park on Main Street, parade heads south along Main, turns onto Front Street, and ends at 3rd Street firehouse.

Center Moriches
Monday, 9 a.m.

Begins at Lake Avenue and Main Street, and marches east to Mount Pleasant Cemetery for ceremony at 10 a.m. Sponsored by VFW Victory Post 414.

UpIsland

Huntington
Monday, 11:30 a.m.

Begins north on New York Avenue from Big H shopping center and ends on Main Street. Hosted by Nathan Hale VFW 1469.

Mastic
Monday, 11 a.m.

Begins at Montauk Highway and Mastic Road, proceed down Mastic Road to the Mastic fire house for a small ceremony

Blue Point
Monday, 11 a.m.

Starts at Blue Point Avenue and Middle Road, marches north on Blue Point Avenue to firehouse. Sponsored by the Fire Department.

St. James
Monday, 10 a.m.

Starts at Woodland and Lake avenues, moves north on Lake to St. James Elementary School for services, sponsored by VFW Post 395 and Sherwood Bros. American Legion Post 1152.

Smithtown
Monday, noon

Begins at Singer Lane, west on Main Street to Town Hall, sponsored by Knights of Columbus. Ceremony follows.

Stony Brook
Monday, 10 a.m.

Begins at Stony Brook Shopping Center, goes east on Main Street to Veterans Memorial Park. Sponsored by the VFW.
