Real Housewives of New York City star and Hamptonite Aviva Drescher will be speaking and signing her new memoir Leggy Blonde (Simon & Schuster) at Book Revue in Huntington tonight.

Known as one of the boldest, no bull members of Bravo’s Real Housewives cast, Drescher also stands out for having a prosthetic leg, though she never lets it get in the way of her fabulous lifestyle. The reality star, Southampton resident and lawyer is also a staunch advocate of amputees, and she shares her experiences, including losing her foot in a barn accident as a child—and the many attempts to reattach it—in Leggy Blonde.

After her amputation, and a trip to India to be cured by a famous mystic, the book follows Drescher to the Paris nightclub scene, a series of tumultuous relationships—including having four children with two husbands—changing religions, earning her law degree and becoming a successful entrepreneur. Through all of this, she battled numerous phobias, panic attacks, difficult court cases and the pain of watching her mother suffer with, and eventually die from, debilitating alcoholism.

Drescher also relates how her husband Reid Drescher was a loving light in her life, who helped her endure and overcome these hardships, and eventually find the strength and footing to share her life with the world.

In her “no-holds-barred” memoir, Drescher describes her myriad elective and medical surgeries and reveals what reality television is really like behind the scenes. She also promises to answer all the common, and difficult questions about life as an amputee.

Does the leg stay on or come off during sex? Go to Book Revue tonight and find out.

Aviva Drescher will be at Book Revue in Huntington (313 New York Avenue) at 7 p.m. tonight, Tuesday, March 4. Call 631-271-1442 or visit bookrevue.com to find out more.
