Fewer than four weeks remain until Memorial Day weekend, and while we at Dan’s Papers can’t wait, we also know there are many things we have to squeeze in during the next few weeks on the East End, lest we lose our chance with all that summer brings. We know that if we don’t get out and do these now, we’ll have to wait until after Labor Day before we try again…and so will you!
We continue our countdown of things to do before Memorial Day weekend on the East End with #25: Challenge the Dan’s Papers Trivia Team at Townline BBQ
One of the fun activities on the East End that is only available during the offseason is Quiz Night at Townline BBQ.
The bar at this Sagaponack barbecue joint fills up with the sharpest minds in the Hamptons each Thursday night at 7 p.m. between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Every week, there are six new rounds crafted by quizmaster Paul Johnson to test their trivial knowledge, from literature, history, and the arts to sports, current events and cocktail recipes. Among the six, to keep it interesting, there is always a visual round and an audio round. The audio round can be movie quotes, television themes, individual song clips, or mashups.
The Dan’s Papers Trivia Team, Thursday Night AA, is one of the most competitive teams at Townline BBQ; however, at this point in the season it is My Dixie Wrecked and The Know It Ales that are neck and neck for the Townline Trophy for Trivia Excellence. TNAA is solidly in third, and there is always next season to go for the gold
There are now just four Thursdays left—the last date of the season is May 22—before Quiz Night takes a break for the summer. Can you defeat the Dan’s Papers trivia mavens? Show up Thursday with your team of five to take us on.
Come back tomorrow for 50 Things to Do Before Memorial Day in the Hamptons #24.
