Topping Rose House Awarded for Design as Summer Farm Dinners Begin

While often receiving its greatest praise for fine dining, such as its popular Summer Farm Dinner Series, luxury inn and restaurant Topping Rose House of Bridgehampton was also recently recognized for its fabulous interior design.
The first two honors come from Hospitality Design magazine as part of its 10th Annual Hospitality Design Awards. The inn’s architecture, designed by Roger Ferris & Partners, and interior design by Champalimaud and were recognized twice in the Lifestyle/Boutique Hotel category. Topping Rose House won Best Guestrooms or Suites and Best Overall Hotel. The Bridgehampton hotel is featured amongst all of the winners in Hospitality Design‘s June issue.
Champalimaud’s interiors also won Best Design in the “50 Rooms and Under” category of the International Hotel & Property Awards. Design et al presents these annual awards to hotels across the world, as voted on by professionals, readers, clients and customers.
The Topping Rose House was built in 2010, within Bridgehampton’s historic, and now fully restored, Bull’s Head Inn. Celebrity chef Tom Colicchio, along with owners Bill Campbell and Simon Critchell, operate the inn and restaurant, offering luxurious accommodations and fine, farm-to-table dining experiences, such as the successful Winter Game and Truffle Season weekends, and its Summer Farm Dinner Series.
In keeping with the emphasis on locally grown produce, much of it from the inn’s own Topping Rose Farm, and specially themed meals, Topping Rose House hosted the first of this year’s annual Summer Farm Dinners with Grill Night on Sunday, July 6. For this first, grill-themed Summer Farm Dinner, diners enjoyed a three-course family-style outdoor meal in the Topping Rose orchard, featuring grilled meat, fish and local produce.
The restaurant’s Summer Farm Dinner Series will continue with similar outdoor, family-style meals, each including a selection of local beer and wine, every Sunday at 6 p.m. in July and August. This Sunday, July 13, Topping Rose House will present Fish Fry—the second Summer Farm Dinner of the season, with locally-caught fish and shellfish. A From the Farm Summer Farm Dinner will follow on Sunday, July 20 with a vegetarian menu showcasing the bountiful produce from Topping Rose House Farm and other East End farmers.
Through the end of August, the Summer Farm Dinner Series will rotate between Grill Night, Fish Fry and From the Farm meals each Sunday at 6 p.m. Seats are $95 per person, with additional tax and gratuity. For reservations, email Mejken Poore at mpoore@craftrestaurant.com.
