The Pet Partners Therapy Animal Handler Course is being offered this Saturday for humans who would like to be part of the Angel on a Leash Southampton Hospital Therapy Dog Program.

Angel on a Leash promotes the role of the human-animal bond in enhancing human health and quality of life. Dogs and their handlers are certified through Pet Partners, a nonprofit organization that trains animals and handlers for assisted therapy programs nationwide.

The class is for humans only. The cost is $100 for the public and $70 for hospital staff. Admission includes a handbook, additional handouts, coffee, tea and snacks.
