Are you excited about Shark Week? Can you quote lines from Sharknado? Make your shark fantasy a reality at one of three shark tournaments on the East End. But if you have qualms about shark hunting, never fear—there’s a no-kill option too!

29TH ANNUAL STAR ISLAND SHARK TOURNAMENT
6/18–6/20. The beloved shark tournament returns. Sharks that don’t meet weight requirements can be tagged and released. Contact Star Island If you want to participate but don’t own your own boat—you can charter one. Star Island Yacht Club & Marina, Montauk Point.  starislandyc.com

THE 45TH ANNUAL MONTAUK MARINE BASIN SHARK TOURNAMENT
6/25–6/27. This year’s tournament will award $50,000 in cash prizes. Red Line Films will be on-hand doing segments for NBC Sports. Montauk Marine Basin, 426 West Lake Drive, Montauk. 631-668-5900 marinebasin.com

3RD ANNUAL SHARK’S EYE NO-KILL TOURNAMENT
7/17–7/19. No sharks will be killed during this event! This “tag” tournament is a special catch-tag-release shark tournament. A major cash prize is awarded to the winner. Painter April Gornik, who has protested the Montauk shark kill tournaments in the past, supported the tournament when it began. Musical legend Jimmy Buffett and his boat, The Last Mango, participated in the No-Kill in 2013 and 2014. Darenberg’s Montauk Marine Basin, 426 West Lake Drive, Montauk. 631-668-5900 marinebasin.com
