Tina Paola of Whole Le Crepe on Harvest East End
Tina Paola, owner and chef at Whole Le Crepe, believes that food can be both tasty and healthy, and she showcases that philosophy in her crepes, which range from the savory to the sweet. Check out Paola’s creations at Dan’s Harvest East End, held at McCall Vineyard and Ranch on August 22. Here, she discusses being a part of the local food and wine culture:
What are you most looking forward to about being part of Dan’s Harvest East End this year?
We are looking forward to the experience of a new opportunity. It is such an honor to serve alongside the finest purveyors of the East End.
One food or dish that everyone should try at least once in life:
Our sweet crepe selection that everyone should try is our Banana Raspberry. Our savory crepe selection that everyone should try is our Baby Spinach with Goat Cheese and Dried Cranberries.
When you hear the phrase “local,” what comes to mind?
When we hear the phrase “local” we think of our Long Island Farmers Market showcasing their finest in-season produce.
What is the best pairing of food and East End wine?
Some recommended wine pairings have been Sparkling Pointe’s Topaz Imperial, Palmer’s Cabernet Franc, Laurel Lake’s Riesling, Raphael’s La Tavola, Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard’s White Satin and Corey Creek’s First Crush. We have also paired with Duckwalk North and South and Lieb Cellars.
If you were to eat at Whole Le Crepe as a guest, what would you order?
Our authentic crepes are an excellent complement to a glass of fine wine or specialty coffees. We believe the customers who are seeking the East End getaway expect a certain level of sophistication that our crepes help to ensure.
A great meal always begins with…
Fresh, whole food and of course, family and friends!
