Kites of the Harbor Welcomes Two Avengers in One Week
Not one, but two of Marvel’s Avengers stopped by Kites of the Harbor in Sag Harbor last week.
During his visit to the historic former whaling village, which included a stop at the Sag Harbor carnival the night before, red-hot Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd dropped by Kites of the Harbor on Friday, August 7. Now recognizable to every kid in America, it was no surprise that Rudd turned a few young heads, and he was even nice enough to sign an Ant-Man bobblehead for one lucky young fan, who bought it at the kite and gifts shop.
Using a black marker, Rudd signed the local boy’s Wacky Wobbler Bobble-Head, writing, “To Conner, Stay Small! Paul Rudd.” (see photo at bottom of post)
The day before Rudd shopped at Kites of the Harbor, fellow Avenger and Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. visited the store and spent nearly $100 on “a bunch of stuff,” an employee of the shop said. “Both of them were super duper nice,” she said of the onscreen superheroes. “They were great people.”
Store manager Morgan Brunner concurred that, in true hero fashion, both men were very nice. “I was waiting to see what other ‘man’ would come in,” Brunner quipped. “Spiderman? Superman? We got Ant-Man and Iron Man…”
Page Six reported yesterday that Downey Jr. was also seen having breakfast with his wife and kids at The Golden Pear in Sag Harbor on Friday morning, and was later spotted at Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee in Amagansett. As the weekend came to a close on Sunday evening, he and wife, Susan Downey, enjoyed shared an order of risotto on the patio of East Hampton restaurant Nick & Toni’s.
Now if Amagansett homeowner and Avenger Scarlett Johansson, aka Black Widow, only needed a kite…
