Madonna Shows Rebel Heart with Amy Schumer, Anderson Cooper in NYC

Bridgehampton resident and pop music icon Madonna played sold-out concerts at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Wednesday and Thursday, and the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday. New York is the third city in Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour—her 10th and final tour with Live Nation, which paid the star $120 million for a 10-year contract.
As expected, Madonna’s fans were treated to shows full of elaborate, conceptual sets, costume changes and songs spanning her 30-year career. One of the best surprises on Wednesday, red-hot comedian and recent Hamptons visitor Amy Schumer took the stage in front of a giant portrait of Madonna clutching a sword to her chest and delivered some pre-show laughs, including plenty of jokes that are way too blue for these pages. Among the lines we can repeat, Schumer said that recent Hamptons vacationers, the Kardashians, “take the faces they were born with as a light suggestion.”
Later, Schumer joined Madge onstage for a little bumping, grinding and spanking during her performance of “Unapologetic Bitch,” which ended when Madonna gave Schumer a banana for her efforts. Winning a little more than fruit, Schumer took home a golden statue at the 2015 Emmy Awards on Sunday. Shortly before winning the award, the comedian told Extra that getting to dance onstage with Madonna was “the best night of my life…” Sounds like Schumer had the best weekend of her life, but things seem to be getting better and better for the outspoken star. In Brooklyn on Saturday, Quiogue newsman Anderson Cooper joined Madonna onstage during the same “Unapologetic Bitch” song and he was also handed a banana as a reward for the appearance. Cooper proceeded to eat the gift, and Madonna wrote on Instagram, “Anderson thanks for being my Bitch tonight!!! Hope you enjoyed the Banana‼️‼️‼️? U!!!” To Schumer, Madonna wrote, “Love You Amy! ??? Bitch You ARE IN My gang! Thank. You!!” on Instagram.

During her eventful Rebel Heart Tour shows, Madonna performed with numerous dancers and multiple stage and costume themes, including sections based on Joan of Arc, complete with pole dancing nuns; Mexico’s Day of the Dead; “Harlem-flapper-meets-Paris-in-the-Twenties;” rock ‘n’ roll Tokyo; a gypsy-inspired look; a star-spangled, Uncle Sam-like section and more.
Madonna’s next stop is the Videotron Centre in Canada’s Quebec City tonight, September 21, followed by Philadelphia on Thursday, September 24; Boston on Saturday, September 26; Chicago on September 28; Detroit on October 1 and Atlantic City on October 3. The tour continues with more stops in Canada and the United States and then Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia, where it will conclude on March 27, 2016.
