The off season is a great time to head out to Montauk. The leaves begin to change and crowds begin to die down. Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa (290 Old Montauk Highway, Montauk) is offering an abundance of cool weather activities. First up, an ice-skating rink! Enjoy warm drinks like hot toddies, mulled port and hot chocolate while gliding on the new ice skating rink on Gurney’s roof deck, which is officially open until April 2016. The ice skating rink will be complimentary for in-house guests, $15 for adults/$4 skate rental and $10 for children/$2 skate rental. Halloween happenings are also in the works at Gurney’s. Monster Trick or Treat will take place from noon–9 p.m. The event features oceanfront ice skating with Gurney’s goodie bags for kids, while the Monster Mash Halloween Party will take place in the Regent Cocktail Club from 9 p.m.– 2 a.m. with music by DJ Vikas and an adult costume contest with prizes including a weekend at Gurney’s, spa credit and a dinner at Scarpetta Beach.

Amidst the lively Presidential debates this fall, check out the premier men’s footwear brand Thursday Boot Company and its fashionably classic President Boot. Founded by two Columbia Business School classmates, Nolan Walsh and Connor Wilson, Thursday Boot Company strives to bring versatility back to men’s boots by merging the comfortable with the practical. When you put on a pair of Thursdays, you will be ready for whatever the day brings your way. The pair also suggests wearing these boots in the Hamptons—a favorite destination of theirs. The President style comes in four different colors, all priced starting at $199 and available at ThursdayBoots.com. (Not all of the boots are as large as the ones pictured. These are size 13, for our intern to try out. He quite liked them.)

For a Halloween fix without leaving your cozy home checkout Sugarfina (sugarfina.com) where you’ll find Bento Boxes and acrylic candy cubes filled with all kinds of gummies, chocolates, and booze-filled sweets, many of which are organized by theme including, of course, Halloween. Meanwhile over at Treat House (treathouse.com) you can indulge in another childhood favorite—crispy rice treats. The high-end brand’s take on the classic treat comes in a wide variety of flavors, and they also stock treat pops and marshmallows in seasonal flavors including Peppermint Bark, Egg Nog, Hot Coco, Winter Wonderland, and more—the perfect highbrow addition to a Halloween or holiday party.
