Simple Art of Cooking: Longtime Cooking Columnist Says Goodbye

In December 1990, 25 years ago, I wrote my first cooking column for Dan’s Papers Christmas issue. As a culinary educator, cooking school founder and cookbook author, I looked forward to continuing my love of food through my weekly cooking columns at Dan’s Papers.

Through the column, I was privileged to share my years of study and expertise in the culinary arts, so important for today’s healthier lifestyles. How fortunate I was to write my book, Savoring the Hamptons: Discovering the Food and Wine of Long Island’s East End, where I was able to bring attention to our innovative farmers and fishermen, artisans and winemakers and the bounty of the Hamptons.

A lifestyle change is now in place for my husband and I. There is still fire in my belly for all things culinary but will take a different route—and I wish I said this, “To let go is not to regret the past, but to grow and live for the future.”
