The Kindergarten Teacher Opens HIFF
The 26th annual Hamptons International Film Festival, held this October, presents The Kindergarten Teacher as its opening night film. The film is written and directed by Sara Colangelo and will screen on Thursday, October 4, at Guild Hall in East Hampton.
The film stars Maggie Gyllenhaal, Parker Sevak, Rosa Salazar, and Gael García Bernal. In the film, Gyllenhaal portrays a Staten Island kindergarten teacher who yearns to live a life of art and intellectualism. Gyllenhaal and Colangelo both plan to attend the festival. Colangelo is a 2013 alumna of HIFF’s annual Screenwriters Lab.
