Charity Drive

East Hampton Chamber of Commerce and the Baker House 1650 will hold their annual holiday party and charity drive on Wednesday, January 15, from 5 to 7 PM at the inn. The Chamber asks that people to bring non-perishable canned items that will be donated to local food pantries. Complimentary passed hors d’oeuvres and wine will be available. Admission is free for members or future members and $15 for non-members.

Paint And Sip

The Clubhouse in East Hampton will host “Paint and Sip,” step-by-step acrylic painting classes, on Thursdays beginning January 16. A fee of $45 per person includes one drink, all painting materials, and 20 percent off your dinner. Call 631-537-2696 for more info.

Education Trends

The Spur South will host a cocktail reception on Friday, January 17, from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. Staff from the Avenues School will be speaking about new education trends and their world-class education opportunities. Tom Dunn of Southampton Arts Center will also speak. The event is free. There will be a welcome drink and pizza for the kids.

SoFo Stargazing

Stargazing with the Montauk Observatory will be held on Friday, January 17, from 6 to 8 PM. Montauk Observatory astronomers William Francis Taylor and Dr. Jeffrey Owen Katz will set up their telescopes under the dark skies of the South Fork Natural History Museum in Bridgehampton to give guided tours of the heavens to all who attend. The event is free.

Family Day In Water Mill

Join Ali Bianchi at The Watermill Center for an afternoon of theater workshops, sharing how professional artists create new and exciting work on Saturday, January 18, from 1 to 3 PM. Ages eight and older are welcome and must be accompanied by at least one adult. Dress comfortably and be ready to move. Space is limited and reservations are required.

Memoir Workshop

Michelle Murphy Strada is hosting a six-week memoir workshop upstairs at the Amagansett library beginning Tuesday, January 21. Bring three double-spaced pages to read, six copies. Snow Days

The Westhampton Free Library invites children in kindergarten through third grades to make a glowing snowman out of a water bottle. The fun is on Tuesday, January 21, at 5:30 PM.

The library also invites tweens in fourth through sixth grades to design beautiful snowflake ornaments using air-drying clay on Wednesday, January 22, at 4 PM.
