New Leader Taking Over Boca Helping Hands

The longtime leader of the nonprofit Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is retiring after helping train his replacement, who is slated to take over running the organization this summer.
BHH Executive Director Greg Hazle announced in April his plans to step down after eight years of helping grow the nonprofit by expanding its programs and services to meet rising demand from people across Palm Beach County.
“Serving as executive director of Boca Helping Hands has been one of the greatest honors of my life,” said Hazle. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together, and I’m deeply grateful to our staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners who make this work possible every day.”
The nonprofit provides food, medical, and financial assistance to help nearly 35,000 people annually to improve their quality of life and build financial stability.
During Hazle’s time as executive director, BHH doubled its annual budget, expanded its job training and mentoring programs, established partnerships with healthcare providers, extended food distribution to additional sites throughout southern Palm Beach County, and enhanced the reach and impact of its financial assistance services, according to the organization.
Andrew D. Hagen has been named Hazle’s successor. The two will work side by side during a transitionary period until Hagen takes over in June.
