Joseph Raymond Castelo Dies at 87 in Palm Beach

Joseph “Joe” Raymond Castelo was born on May 17, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York. He died peacefully on Oct. 27, at the age of 86 at his home in Palm Beach, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Born in a house on Carroll Street in Brooklyn, New York, on May 17, 1939, Joe embodied the quintessential spirit of a self-made man – a savvy entrepreneur and investor whose keen instincts and tireless work ethic built successful family businesses that supported and united those he loved most.
A proud graduate of St. John’s University, Joe cultivated a deep appreciation for the philosophy of Thomas Aquinas, nurturing an intellectual curiosity that shaped his humor, his friendships, and his ardent approach to life. He was a skilled and avid tennis and chess player, forging lifelong friendships on the courts of his beloved Beach Club.
Joe was a devoted husband of Donna Castelo, the love of his life for 55 years. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in faith, laughter, and family. He was a loving father to Robert, Joseph, and Christine, and to their spouses Dominick, Ashley, and Kathy. He was a proud grandfather to eight adoring grandchildren: Robert, Christopher, Jessica, Natalie, Dominick, Gabriella, Abigail, and Soleil. Joe cherished every moment with them, offering love, guidance, and stories that will live in their hearts forever.
Those who knew Joe will remember him as a loyal and generous friend – a lover of life and of people – one whose wisdom, humor, and steadfast love could be counted on in every season.
His warmth and laughter will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
In lieu of flowers, the Castelo family asks that donations be made in Joe’s name to his favorite charity, The Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
