Olympic Sailor Amanda Clark From Shelter Island Advances To Medal Race

Shelter Island olympic sailor Amanda Clark and her teammate Sarah Lihan are tied for 8th place after the preliminary races in the women’s 470 regatta at the Olympics in London. The pair finished ninth in race ten today, allowing them to place in 8th overall and to move forward to a medal race, which takes only the top ten teams. There are twenty teams total in the women’s 470 sailboat class.
Amanda is thirty years old, grew up on Shelter Island, and is a graduate of Connecticut College.
The pair are back in the hunt for medals with two more fleet races tomorrow and then the medal race on Friday.
