Hampton Synagogue Hosts Mayoral Candidate John Catsimatidis
The Hampton Synagogue in Westhampton Beach welcomed New York City mayoral candidate John A. Catsimatidis over the July 4 weekend. On July 13, mayoral candidate Christine Quinn will address the congregation. The Synagogue expects all the mayoral hopefuls to visit in the coming months.
Catsimatidis is the Greek-American owner, president, chairman and CEO of Gristedes Foods, the largest supermarket chain in New York City. He also owns and runs the Red Apple Group—a New York real estate company with some $700- to $800 million in holdings—and the Greek-American newspaper Hellenic Times. Catsimatidis has the Liberal Party nomination for the 2013 mayoral election.
Quinn is the Democratic candidate for mayor and current Speaker of the New York City Council. She is the city’s third person to hold the Speaker position, as well as the first female and first openly gay person in the second most powerful public servant job in the city.
Due to term limits, Hamptons resident Michael Bloomberg must step down as mayor this year and cannot run for a fourth term.
The Hampton Synagogue is located at 154 Sunset Avenue in Westhampton Beach. Visit thehamptonsynagogue.org or call 631-288-0534 to find out more!
