Paul McCartney Releases First Track from New Album—and it's Good
Amagansett music legend Paul McCartney released a song from his forthcoming New (temporary title, we expect) album online Thursday. The song, also titled “New” (for the moment), is track number six on the 12-song album, which is set to drop on October 14 in the UK (October 15 in the United States). New is McCartney’s first album of all brand new solo material in six years, and it appears he will be previewing tracks on iTunes between now and the release.
The “New” track is produced by superstar DJ and producer Marc Ronson, who is just one of the new collaborators McCartney worked with on the record. “We can do what we want, we can live as we choose,” McCartney said, sharing some lyrics from the song on PaulMcCartney.com, which says more details will be revealed in the coming weeks.
The jaunty track has McCartney’s iconic Beatles sound, and it bodes well for his upcoming album. Be among the first to hear what could be another classic.
