This Is The Most Beautiful August In The History Of Augusts In The Hamptons
I don’t want to jinx it, but so far the weather in August has been more beautiful than any other August that I can remember. I’ve been thanking the weather gods on an hourly basis as of late. The weather is cool and comfortable, while sunny at the same time. It’s hard to believe that just a few weeks ago in July, we were experiencing heat that was so deadly I could barely walk outside for more than ten minutes.
What’s making the weather so special right now is the fact that we all have a vivid memory of how hot it was, so this air almost seems magical. Hopefully we can keep this up through the rest of the month and into September.
I’ve been doing a lot more things outside lately because of it. Yesterday I was down at the softball field at Southampton High School playing catch and a few days ago I trained with Ronnie White and his young son for the upcoming football season at Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor. Now’s the time to get outside, we only have so much more time left!
