Seal Named Spiderman to Be Released Thursday in Hampton Bays
Celebrate aquatic independence with the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research & Preservation during the release of Spiderman.
On Thursday, July 2, at 7 p.m. Spiderman, a male harbor seal that was rescued after becoming entangled in a balloon ribbon earlier this year, will be set free. He is fully recovered and ready to go back home. Everyone is welcome to join Spiderman as he ventures back into local waters near Ponquogue Bridge in Hampton Bays.
To meet him at the release site, cross the bridge heading toward Dune Road, make a left at the traffic light, and then another quick left to take the road to the end where the release will take place.
