Hillary Clinton's Hamptons Emails Redacted
Among 3,000 pages of Hillary Clinton‘s emails from 2009, during here tenure as U.S. secretary of state, were a number of exchanges concerning her vacations in the Hamptons. But before the State Department made the emails public this week under the Freedom of Information Act, many emails were redacted in whole or in part.
A fair amount of the email released were between Clinton and longtime aide Huma Abedin.
The Los Angeles Times reports, “At one point, Clinton and Abedin trade notes about the Hamptons, the posh New York beach community where Clinton vacations. But what they say is a mystery. The entire text, beyond the subject line, is redacted.”
What confidential or classified information is being protected in those emails titled “Re:Hamptons”? We can only speculate, but we suspect it has something to do with Clinton being a huge fan of Dan’s Papers.
The emails also revealed that a 2009 interview Clinton gave to Lisa Ling for The Oprah Winfrey Show took place at a private residence in the Hamptons—though the homeowner’s name was redacted.
Journalists continue to pore over the emails, and more about Clinton’s time in the Hamptons may be revealed.
