2nd Incident Of Car Crashing Into The Water In Less Than A Week
A second car has just been reported to be found in the water on the East End with emergency vehicles responding. The car was discovered near the Town Commercial Dock in Springs off of Gann Road, which is a frequent spot for recreation fisherman who look to cast off of the pier. The car was seen driven into the water, with the driver potentially still in the water and in great peril if he/she was trapped in the vehicle.
The news is very strange, considering that just yesterday a car was discovered in the water at the Shinnecock Canal. A man named Simon R. Flaherty, who was 80 years old and was from Hampton Bays, was declared dead after rescue divers found him in the water. They believed that he was in the cold water for nearly an hour.
And there have been other horrific accidents in the last week. A man driving on the wrong side of the road off of Route 27 crashed into another car while going 70 miles per hour which lead to his death. The victims of the opposing car are alive but in critical condition at the hospital.
