Mother Nature Levels Mollie Zweig's Dune

Last weekend, Mother Nature intervened in the ongoing battle between East Hampton and homeowner Mollie Zweig. A dune in front of Zweig’s house, which is located near Georgica Beach, was leveled over the summer by Hurricane Irene, apparently altering the property line. Zweig hired a contractor to place a three-sided fence on the sand where the dune once stood. In East Hampton, the Town Trustees claim the beach from the crest of the dune to the mean high water mark for public use.  fight to remove the fence just got a whole lot easier – a storm over the weekend took out two of its sides, leaving just one string of metal poles. Bets on whether or not Saturday’s predicted snow will remove the rest? Check out the photos below:
