Water Mill’s Matt Lauer joined East Hampton’s Katie Couric in a scripted bit for last Monday’s premiere of Couric’s new talk show. With 1.5 million viewers from the top 56 U.S. markets, “Katie” led the pack of debut daytime shows, easily pulling past Ricki Lake, Steve Harvey and Jeff Probst.
