Hamptons regular and former President Bill Clinton received GLAAD’s Advocate for Change Award last week. GLAAD’s Media Awards acknowledge “inclusive representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and the issues that affect their lives.”
Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law back in 1997, but he has since changed his mind about DOMA and has spoken in favor of overturning it. He noted that the law is “…incompatible with our Constitution.”
The former president also signed “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” into law during his time in office.
