Westhampton Beach Scores Big at Penn Relays

The Westhampton Beach Lady Hurricanes had a strong showing at the prestigious Penn Relays last weekend. Senior Annica Penn placed third in the 5K racewalk with a time of 26:09.68. The Lady ‘Canes took fifth in the high school 4×400 relay, with teammates Stephanie Vickers, Grace Gibakain, Bora Murphy and Lauren Lorefice finishing in 4:13.03.

Drawing track athletes from around the world, Penn Relays is the oldest and largest track and field event in the country. It’s held at the University of Pennsylvania’s Franklin Field in Philadelphia during the last full week in April and attracts elite high school, college and professional track athletes.
