Christie Brinkley Cheers Up Wendy Williams
When a mild illness forced the delay of talk show host Wendy Williams‘ Broadway debut in Chicago as Matron “Mama” Morton, a former Roxie Hart, Christie Brinkley, helped Williams get her spirits up.
After learning of the delay, due to a throat infection, Brinkley reached out to Williams. Over Champagne at JW Marriot Essex House, Brinkley told Williams that the day before she was set to take the stage, she got out of bed and her leg twisted. Her first performance as Roxie Hart was delayed four nights. She said she did not want to delay, but was told that if she didn’t she could jeopardize the whole run.
The conversation is captured in the TV Guide Network docuseries Wendy Williams: How You Doin’ Broadway?!
Brinkley performed in Chicago at in 2011 and then in 2012 she reprised her role on Broadway and in a national tour.
