Fox television network’s MasterChef Junior recently completed a successful premiere season and they are now searching for more talented “junior” home cooks in America.
The show is on a nationwide search for young home cooks between the ages 8-13 as of March 10, 2014, and the winner will receive a cash prize and the title of “MasterChef Junior.”
Casting calls will be held in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Dallas beginning January 18. Any interested local Hamptons talent (between ages 8 and 13) can attend the open casting call in Manhattan on Saturday, January 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The location will be announced at a later date.
If you think you or your child is the next MasterChef Junior, the show’s producers and casting people would love to meet you at an open call. An adult guardian must accompany any minors coming to an open call at all times. Applications must also be completed by parents or legal guardians. Visit fox.com/masterchef-junior/ for more info.
Based on the hugely successful U.K. format, the Masterchef Junior series extends the Masterchef brand in the U.S. to include a younger group of aspiring chefs. The show gives budding cooks an exciting opportunity to showcase their talent, culinary smarts and passion for food through a series of delicious challenges and cook-offs. Similar to Masterchef, host and award-winning Chef Gordon Ramsay will be joined by restaurateur and winemaker Joe Bastianich (Del Posto, Eataly) and acclaimed chef Graham Elliot (Graham Elliot, Graham Elliot Bistro) on the judging panel.
Together, the celebrated food experts will coach and encourage the promising hopefuls to cook like pros and teach them the tricks of the trade along the way.
