Katy’s Courage, a nonprofit group that works on pediatric cancer causes in memory of North Haven 12-year-old Katy Stewart, is having a skate-a-thon on Saturday, March 8, at Buckskill Winter Club in East Hampton, and all are invited to ice skate the afternoon away for a good cause.

Supporters can pledge a flat rate or make a pledge based on the number of laps a skater completes in two hours. Event organizers will track everyone’s laps.

Pre-event registration is $20 and participants are asked to get sponsors. Day-of registration without any pledges is $35. Registration includes skate rental.

The top overall fundraiser will receive a free membership to the Buckskill Winter Club for the 2014-15 season

The skate-a-thon beings at 4 p.m. Register at katyscourage.dojiggy.com. The event will also include a bake sale.

Buckskill is located at 178 Buckskill Rd, East Hampton.
