East Hampton Police Investigate Three-Car Route 114 Collision

Three vehicles collided on Route 114 in East Hampton Wednesday morning, leading to two drivers being airlifted to Stony Brook Univercity Hospital, and now police are asking for witnesses to come forward with information.

The accident occurred at 11:47 a.m. just north of Hardscrabble Close, according to East Hampton Town police. A 2002 Subaru Forrester and a 2008 Ford Explorer crashed while both were headed north, causing the Forrester to collide head on with a 2008 Chevrolet utiity truck, police said.

The Forrester driver and the utility truck driver were the two who were medevaced. They are now listed in stable condition.

According to fire officials, East Hampton Volunteer Ambulance Corps tended to the drivers while the East Hampton Fire Departmeant Heavy Rescue Squad extricated the driver of the Forrester

The road was closed for a time for police so investigate the scene.

Police ask witnesses to call 631-537-7575.
