Designers have put the pedal to the metal, amping up metallic finishes and iridescent fabrics with high-shine and iridescent shimmer. Your summer nights just got a little hotter as glow-meets-go sets the tone for the season- the metallic trend has got a whole new mojo.

These shiny looks bring a fresh sense of opulence to dresses, jackets, tops, shoes and swimwear in intense metallic blues, pinks, greens and yellows and golds. Sparkle adds a dash of something special to any and every outfit.

Glistening metallics put a fresh spin and add a special flare to to classic shapes and timeless looks: tailored paints, blazers and shift dresses. Eye-catching, foil colors in spring and summer will give everyday outfits a sci-fi, futuristic feel, creating playful elegance.

Here are my tips for wearing  the trend without getting overwhelmed:

1. There’s no need to go overboard with accessories. If you are going with a statement metallic piece of clothing,  you’ll want to keep your jewelry and bags and shoes toned down.

2. Incorporate metallics into your wardrobe by wearing them with neutrals. Pair a silver jackets with white trousers, or a sparkly top with a khaki pencil skirt to keep your look fashionable without going too far out.

3. Add glitter and glam to any outfit with a great metallic accessory or sequined accent. Try a metallic envelope clutch to add a touch of richness to any outfit.

Whether you prefer to do just a touch of metallic or to jump in feet first, take a chance on the shiny trend. Try on some iridescence from head-to-toe and you’ll be sure to grab some attention, and a photo-op, too!

See above for some gilded pieces perfect for any glamour girl.
