Where They Dine: Hamptons Celebrities Eat Out, July 21-31

As July wound to a close, Hamptons celebrities took to various downtowns to enjoy a meal out.

75 Main in Southampton was host to numerous politicians who enjoyed breakfast at the popular establishment. New York Senator Charles E. Schumer dined at the Southampton eatery just before former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani walked in.

Giuliani’s wife, Judith Hanover, was spotted at Red Stixs in Water Mill. Other Hamptonites dining at the Water Mill restaurant throughout the week include Barbara Walters and Jason Kidd.

Last Sunday, Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton was full of celebrities, starting with Robert Benton and Alec and Hilaria Baldwin all dining in the front room. Nathan Lane dined nearby in the back room, while April Gornik, Eric Fischl and Oliver Stone were all spotted on the porch. Josh Charles and his wife dined on the patio, just a few tables away from a large party including Simon Cowell and Lauren Silverman. Amagansett rock legend Paul McCartney and wife Nancy Shevall also made an appearance at Nick & Toni’s this week, along with Howard Stern and Beth Ostrosky Stern, Jennifer Lopez, Royal Pains star Mark Feuerstein and Leah Remini, who has been quite chummy with JLo since the American Idol Judge split with former beau Casper Smart.

Famed cartoonist and Southampton resident Jules Feiffer dined at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor last Wednesday evening. He took a postprandial perambulation to the Long Wharf and was heard remarking, “This is a lovely town.”

Julianne Moore, her husband Bart Freundlich and their daughter Liv Freundlich were seen chatting with fellow diners at the Hideaway in Montauk.

Supermodel and Southampton resident Brooke Shields was spotted at Carvel in Southampton on Wednesday. Did she enjoy some decadent soft serve or go home with the whole Cookie Puss, Fudgy the Whale megillah? You’ll have to ask her. In related news, Shields is reportedly penning a memoir that will share her experiences growing up with her mother, Teri Shields, who was also her manager—no word on whether the book will reveal her ice cream predilections.
