A 25-year-old Manorville resident has been arrested and charged in connection with a robbery and an attempted robbery that took place at the Tanger Outlets in Riverhead on seperate dates, according to Riverhead police.

Police said Nicholas A. Rutigiano was arrested the night of Friday, January 9.

That afternoon, police received a call from Tanger that reported a suspicious person—a call that was based on a Suffolk County Crime Stoppers alert regarding the first robbery. Police said an investigation of the report led to Rutigiano’s arrest.

The first robbery was January 6 at Sunglass Hut. A man reportedly robbed the store with a knife. The attempted robbery was January 8 at Movado Company.

Rutigiano is charged with first-degree robbery and attempted first-degree robbery, both felonies.
