Here we are, embarking on the very start of the new year! Have you made your New Year’s resolutions yet? If the list seems infinite, maybe start with something small and manageable—like taking better care of your wardrobe. This can be a daily, weekly or monthly exercise that helps with overall organization and a heightened sense of serenity.

For many, ironing is a chore of the past. You bring your clothes to the dry cleaner and they come back flat. Well, what about when your shirt is perfectly clean and just needs a little sprucing up before it can be worn again? Doing one’s own ironing saves money and time in the long run, when considering trips to and from the cleaners. However, having an iron you like versus one you get in fights with makes all the difference. Rowenta, the premier garment care line, has just come out with a stylish and effective iron influenced by the company’s long-standing relationship with Project Runway.

Get your hands on the new DW4 Project Runway Iron, from Rowenta, the premier garment care line. Combinging advanced technology, fashionable aesthetics and an ergonomic design, the special edition iron is has a Microsteam 300 scratch resistant stainless steel soleplate for excellent glide and perfect steam diffusion; Microsteam precision tip which delivers steam and pressing into hard-to-reach areas, vertical stream, which allows the iron to be used in upright position to remove wrinkles from hanging garments or drape and burst of stream for hard-to-reach wrinkles from difficult fabric. The DW4 Project Runway iron is available at Macys and Bed Bath and Beyond. Visit rowentausa.com for details.

Ready for a little more self-care? Blow Hampton, the East End’s first and only blow dry bar, is expanding to West Palm Beach this winter to offer all of the same great services to loyal and new clientele alike. Those who travel to this trendy downtown area will be able to indulge in celebrity-style blowouts, makeup services, specialty treatments, and more. Good news for Hamptonites, the Bridgehampton and East Hampton salons will remain open all year round as well. For more information, visit Blow online at blowhampton.com.

I’m impressed by some of our local jewelry makers—particularly Corinne Lavinio’s lockets (etsy.com/shop/EastEndLight). I bought one that features a black and white flower. Shelter Island’s Mirinda Page uses stones that she finds on local beaches to make what we at Dan’s call “elemental statement pieces.” Who doesn’t need a wardrobe of those?

Does your dog have Talk Treats to Me dog treats? The excellence of these gourmet dog treats have led the company to rapid growth, but they maintain the standards of a small-batch, artisanal brand. Made right here in Hampton Bays, with meats sourced only in New York State, Talk Treats to Me are USDA-approved and restaurant quality—and dogs love them! Discerning dog parents and pampered pooches can feel safe and happy having these delights on hand. Available in Chicken, Beef and Liver flavors. Visit talktreatstome.com.

Mott & Bow, a premium and affordable collection of men’s denim made from the finest Turkish fabrics, offers all kinds of cool styles online at mottandbow.com. In addition to the original six styles in four different washes, Mott & Bow has the “Thompson” (black denim) in straight, slim and skinny and the “Horatio” (grey denim) in slim and skinny, as well as straight fit. With the convenient Mott & Bow at home try on program, customers can order two pairs of jeans for the price of one and return the extra pair free of charge to ensure the right size every time. I tried a pair—loved them! Then my boyfriend stole them to wear—but that’s okay because they look so good on him!

Lastly, kick off the year with an incredible health booster for your face! The favorite new product at The Juicy Naam is Miracle of the Sea Skin Treatment. Natural marine extract is the only known compound that creates skin metamorphosis—a “reset button” to make the skin younger (proven by biopsy). Natural marine extract is a completely natural compound, composed of 12 marine species. Please email giuliana@thejuicynaam.us to order and visit thejuicynaam.us for details.
