Katy's Courage 5K 2015

Saturday morning, April 18, 2015, more than 1,000 people showed on Water Street to benefit Katy’s Courage with proceeds of this year’s race going toward local scholarships, The Katy’s Courage Fund for Pediatric Cancer Research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan and in support of the newly formed partnership: “Katy’s Kids @ CMEE,” with the goal this spring to offer play and expressive peer support for East End children and adolescents in collaboration with the Children’s Museum of the East End. The focus of the peer group support will be grief or loss, including areas such as death of a loved one, divorce, adoption and immigration, and will utilize modalities such as art, music, poetry, dance/movement and drama in a friendly, familiar and supportive environment.
