Billy Joel's Nassau Coliseum Concert Will Be Venue's Last Show

Nassau Coliseum, as Long Islanders know it, is about to change drastically, but before the venue closes for extensive renovations Sag Harbor’s Billy Joel will play one last concert.
A banner still hangs at the Coliseum commemorating his nine sold out shows there in 1998—a record for the arena that has never been broken. In total, he’s played the Coliseum 31 times.
The Piano Man’s 32rd and final Coliseum concert will be Tuesday, August 4.

Joel has a reputation for helping say goodbye to iconic venues. In 2008 he performed the last two concerts at Shea Stadium before it was knocked down to make way for the Mets’ new ballpark, Citi Field.
Nassau Coliseum, once renovations are complete, is expected to reopen in December 2016.
Tickets to the Joel concert went on sale May 1. Remaining tickets are priced between $257 and $1,313. Visit ticketmaster.com.
If you can’t make it to the Coliseum to see Joel, don’t fret because he continues his monthly concerts at Madison Square Garden. His next show is May 28 and concert dates are on the books through December 2015.
